Rising Stars Grant Information

Overview

The CSC Group Rising Stars Program provides financial assistance to local sportspeople, selected for representative teams in their chosen sport.  Applicants can be either athletes, team staff or officials.  At CSC Group we understand the costs required to compete in representative sport can quickly add up so let us lend a helping hand.

Applications must be received by 5pm on the second Wednesday of the month for consideration by the committee for that month’s grants.

Eligibility and Conditions

To be eligible for a Rising Stars Grant, the applicant must:

  1. Be aged 18 years or over, or the parent/guardian of an applicant under 18 years of age
  2. Be a current financial member of CSC (incorporating Caboolture Sports Club, North Lakes Sports Club and Sports Central Caboolture)
  3. Reside in division 1, 2, 3, 4, 7 or 12 the City of Moreton Bay, or be a current member of one of CSC Group’s six Foundation Clubs of which sport is being represented
  4. Be competing or officiating in an event which is endorsed or recognised by your sports’ State or National governing body (this also includes Queensland/Australian School Sports)
  5. Ensure the event is a competition not a demonstration, open tour or exhibition event
  6. Submit your application online at least six (6) weeks prior to your event. Applications for events that have already occurred will not be considered
  7. Attach official proof of selection or entry. (Eg a dated selection letter from your sports body outlining the event, dates and locations)
  8. Provide proof of at least one (1) related expense such as entry fees, travel or accommodation invoice
  9. Complete the Rising Stars Application Form online
  10. Agree to attend any awards presentation events you may be invited and speak about your achievements 
  11. Submit an Acquittal Form within 7 days of the completion of the event, including results and photos (action shots preferred)
  12. Acknowledge the assistance provided by CSC whenever reasonably possible and agree to participate in promotional activities, including the publishing of photos and stories on CSC social media channels, newsletters, annual report or other published materials
Levels of Grants

We offer grants for various levels of representative event.  See below for the definition of each level.  Applicants can receive a maximum of 1 grant at each level per calendar year.

Regional Championship events are those organised by a regional association (eg Sunshine Coast Rugby Union), with a view for selecting representatives to compete at State Championship level events.

State Championship events are those organised by the State Sports Association and will usually be called the “Queensland” Championships or Titles and must be sanctioned by your state sports organisation.  You will be representing your region at these events.

National Championship events are organised by the National Sports Association and will usually be called the “Australian” or “National” Championships or Titles and must be sanctioned by your national sports organisation.  You will be representing Queensland at these events.

International events involving competitors from at least three (3) different countries.  You will be representing Australia at these events and it must be sanctioned by your national sports organisation.

The amount of grant funding provided to each successful applicant will be at the discretion of Sponsorship and Donations Committee taking into account the total available funding pool for the month and our desire to support as many individuals as possible.  The committee’s decision is final and no further correspondence will be entered into.

Assessment

You will receive an automatic email confirmation that your application has been submitted; if you do not receive this confirmation please re-submit your application.

All eligible applications will be assessed by the Sponsorship and Donations Committee on a monthly basis, taking into account the pool of funds available and our desire to assist as many individuals as possible.

All applicants will receive formal written notification in regards to the outcome of their application via email – please ensure you check your Spam/Junk Folder.

Acquittal

All successful applicants will be required to submit a post event report including a copy of results and at least 2 photographs (action shots preferred).  Failure to complete the acquittal process will impact your application for future grants.
